McKinney Police Seek Help in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Pedestrian on Sam Rayburn Tollway

The McKinney Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in locating the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred last Friday night, September 22, at approximately 11:30 PM.

According to reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the southbound frontage road of Sam Rayburn Tollway, near the vicinity of Alma Road, close to Grand Ranch Parkway. The incident location is in proximity to the exit for Hub 121. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the injured pedestrian, but the vehicle responsible for the collision had fled. Tragically, the victim succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives leading the investigation believe that the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is potentially a 2012-2016 Honda Civic, and it is expected to have sustained significant damage to its body.
