On Monday, September 25, at approximately 4:53 PM, the Hood County Sheriff's Office received a distressing call, leading them to the 2900 block of Inwood Trail within the Oak Trail Shores Subdivision in Granbury, Texas. The report indicated a shooting involving a juvenile.
Deputies responded to the scene, where they were met with the grim reality that an 8-year-old female had been shot by another juvenile while inside a residence.
Urgent medical care was administered to the young victim, who was then transported by air medical to Cook's Children Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, the victim was later pronounced deceased.
A firearm was discovered at the scene, prompting an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding how the juveniles came into possession of the weapon. The family of the victim is reported to be fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
