Waco Police Officers are actively searching for a suspect following a fatal shooting incident late Friday night. The incident occurred on September 29, at 11:10 p.m., in the 1900 Block of Avondale. Police officers responded to a distress call and found a male and a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Life-saving measures were initiated by the responding officers before the victims were transported to the hospital where the female has succumbed to her injuries and the male is in critical condition.
26-year-old Gustavo Rojas has been arrested for the homicide of a 21-year-old female. The 21-year-old male victim is still in critical condition. The female’s name will be released at a later.
As of now, Waco Police are treating this case as an ongoing investigation. However, they have assured the public that there is no immediate danger to the community. This incident marks the 10th homicide investigation in Waco for the year 2023.
