33-year-old Margaret Ann Cosby was arrested on October 11, 2023, for Injury to a Child Causing Death in Waco. The arrest followed a referral received by Waco Police Detectives from Child Protective Services (CPS) in late September of 2023. The referral was related to an injury to a child investigation.
Upon receiving the referral, detectives initiated an investigation. During their inquiry, it was revealed that a 3-month-old male infant, Amir Cosby, had been taken to the hospital due to multiple health-related issues and physical injuries. Tragically, the infant passed away shortly after receiving medical attention.
Waco Police Special Crimes Detectives are currently awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the official cause of Amir Cosby's death. The investigation remains ongoing.
