On Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 11:31 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 5000 block of Watercrest Rd regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they discovered a 43-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Officers administered immediate life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. The victim was then rushed to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.
Simultaneously, a 38-year-old female, also involved in the incident, was transported to Seton by personal vehicle, where she is reported to be in stable condition.
The male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:08 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James. An autopsy has been ordered to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
