Incident at Arlington Parks Mall Resolved: Two Injured in Escalator Brawl

At 7:30 pm on Thursday evening, the Arlington Police, Fire, and EMS swiftly responded to reports of a possible active shooting at the Parks Mall located at 3800 S. Cooper Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with injuries related to an altercation near the ice skating rink escalator. Both victims were promptly transported to a local hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

While authorities continue to investigate the incident, it has been confirmed that the situation did not involve an active shooter but rather an isolated incident. The disturbance arose from a confrontation between at least two groups of individuals, resulting in the discharge of firearms.

As of 10:30 pm, no arrests have been made, and police suspect that the shooter has left the mall premises.

In response to the incident, officers conducted thorough primary and secondary sweeps of the mall to ensure the safe evacuation of all patrons from the building. The situation remains under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
